What is Better Auger?

Better Auger is a Browser Extension that you can add to Google Chrome. It makes some quality of life changes to your experience of the regular Auger website by adding additional information, and helping automate common tasks.

I initially just made it for my own use, but when several friends asked for a copy, I decided to polish it up and release it for everyone else frustrated with Auger!

• Keep track of the status of your submitted content
• Visualize how full your submission pipeline is so you don't have to count manually
• Adds character counters to the new offer submission form
• Adds a tag counter to the new offer tags list (no more eyeballing 8!)
• (Coming soon) Create submission templates to auto-fill parts of the new offer form

How much does it cost?

Better Auger is provided for free and released in a way where you can view the code if you wish! It's released under the GNU General Public License V3.

It's free because I'm hoping that people who like this tool decide to tip me on Ko-fi or consider subscribing to my Map Packager program on Patreon which is gonna save you hours.

How do I install it?

 

1. Download the latest version of Better Auger

You can download it here: BetterAuger.zip

2. Save it somewhere safe

You'll need to keep it on your PC to use it so put it somewhere out of the way you'll find again!

3. Go to your Chrome Extensions page

Visit your extensions tab on a Desktop install of Google Chrome by going to the three dots menu at the very top-right of chrome, hovering over "Extensions", then choosing "Manage Extensions".

4. Enable Developer Mode

Make sure the Developer mode toggle in the top-right is turned on.

This allows you to add extensions that are not distributed via the Chrome Web Store to your browser.

5. Drag and drop your downloaded BetterAuger.zip into your extensions

Grab the zip you downloaded earlier with your mouse and drop it onto your chrome tab.

If you prefer, you can also unzip BetterAuger and then use the "load unpacked" button to add the folder through the file browser.

That's it. You're ready to go!

You'll see Better Auger added as an extension.

Head back to Auger and refresh to start using your neat new tool!

Why isn't Better Auger on the Chrome Store?

Due to the private nature of Auger, I felt it better to release this extension in a less public way that can be passed around between partners instead of being on a more public space like the web store.

The one downside to this is that the extension cannot automatically update when new features become available. However, the extension will check if there's a new version whenever you use it and let you know at the bottom of your Auger page if there's new goodies to download!
